The Sound Of Music

Oct 9, 2009

Dear All!
What a thrill it is to be Climbing Another Mountain again! For those of you who haven't seen the show yet - I am back in The Sound of Music playing Maria! We are on the third leg of a six month tour for me. 'My day in the hills' will come to an end in February 2010 in Edinburgh, but before then we will be touring to Milton Keynes, Sunderland, Manchester at Christmas and finally Edinburgh!
I hope to see some of you at stage door and hope I will get the chance to thank you all for your resounding support this year! I am loving all your letters sent to the theatres and so pleased you're enjoying Secret Love!
I have also started a new hobby... Jewellery making, and in my time 'offstage' (what little there is) I am making some beautiful pieces and am wearing them under my habit! More about this when I have a collection to show you...!
With Maria Love,
Connie x

New York, New York

Mar 18, 2009

Dear all,
This is my e-postcard from my trip to the states! Although I've just landed in the UK, so its one of those postcards you might as well hand deliver...
Wow, what a trip. I loved New York so much I almost didn't return.
The highlight definitely had to be meeting Mary Rodgers, Richard Rodger's daughter (of Rodgers and Hammerstein fame!)Went to her flat and she showed us the piano on which Richard composed The Sound Of Music. She also wrote something lovely on the tablecloth at the restaurant, which I then stole to put in my journal! (It was a paper table cloth!!) I have begun keeping a journal this year of all the events as sometimes life can get so busy you often forget to reflect and remember what you have achieved! So one day you may all get to read it!
Please do keep all your amazing love letters coming in, some heartwarming stories, thanks guys! Also tickets are on sale now for the tour, and preparations are well under way, so I hope to see you in a town or city near you!
Climb Every Mountain
And don't forget Mother's Day...

La's of Love

Mar 5, 2009

Hello all!!!
Wowsers, what a month, to and fro, here and there, high and low, promoting my new album 'Secret Love'...and what a great result!!! Thanks to everyone who's bought and heard the new album Secret Love. Such an exciting time for me as a recording artist, something I could really get used to! I've met so many lovely people over the past month at signings and performances and have been so encouraged by the amazing reception to the album. I've met people who I believe are as passionate about musicals as I am!!!

Having returned home to London this evening, after performing in Wales, it dawned on me how soon my year of touring will be upon me! Poor Mr Ruffles, (my beloved guinea pig) will be looked after by a very kind auntie whilst I am on the Secret Love tour and climbing another mountain! May 13th the UK concert tour begins and we will be spreading the 'secret love' across the nation. "Now I shout it from the highest hills"... from Bradford to Leeds, "even told the golden daffodils" in Rhyl! Also I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you all to the tour and to tell you about an idea we had for this romantic themed evening... As many of you may have read I met the new love in my life on Cardiff Central Platform (platform 1 to be precise) and since telling all about our brief encounter I've received a few lovely letters from some of you who have had similar experiences. I would love to read more of your love letters and what I'm really hoping for are some love stories which you would allow me read out during the concert tour infront of your loved ones and maybe, just maybe, if someone's feeling confident, provoke a proposal on stage!?! Please send all of your stories through the website and I will be in touch! Also joining me on this romantic and theatrical journey will be the amazing string quartet 'The Raven' and the immensely talented Will Martin, who hails from New Zealand. Please check them out, I think they will make the evening even more special! Am soooo excited about being Connie on tour in May, not Maria, not Sonia, and definitely not Connie Francis! Please join me if you can and contact me with your love stories and song requests to dedicate to those you love and I will endeavour to get them in the show!
Secret Love,
Connie x

Please send your love letters to info@classicsandjazz.co.uk

Bloggidyblogblog

Feb 13, 2009

Hey all,

Finally a breath in my schedule in which to write a bloggidyblogblog. This week I have been back and forth to my homeland Wales... Monday I was performing at the very first Frank Skinner credit crunch cabaret at the Lyric Theatre in the west end! It was wonderful to be back performing in the west end and thanks to everyone who came to show their support. It was a line up of comedians and I was the only musical act so it was a great evening.

Then I travelled back to Wales for a performance in the Millennium Centre, back to London for radio promotion of the album. Phew!!!

Up for gmtv bright and early in the morning... Hope some of you may be up and able to catch the exclusive video showing of the new album 'Secret Love'.

As many of you already know, I truly do have a 'Secret Love', and if you haven't heard the story yet, have a peek at 'Hello!' magazine this week. I hope you all find your 'trainman' this Valentine's Day'!

I have quite a few performance's next week, as well as appearances on Loose Women, and Blue Peter, where I shall be selling the Maria dress that I wore on the Christmas special "Maria meets Joseph". It's all for the Blue Peter bring and buy sale', so if you happen to have afternoon off work I hope to see you there!

Also on the day of my album release ... February 23rd!... An auction will begin on ebay to auction off my Bargain Hunt fleece which I wore on the programme, to raise money for the charity 'Theatre Mad'. Although my fabulous mum helped us win 'Bargain Hunt', sadly we only made the charity a tenner so we want to raise a little more dosh for them. This item is a one off and is signed, all details on the item and sale process can be found through the link to the ebay auction on this site.

The results of the What's On Stage Best Actress in a Musical Award, for which I am nominated, will be revealed on Sunday at the What’s On Stage concert.
Anyway time for more radio... Hope you'll be listening, Valentine's wishes, Connie x
